We are committed to our role as custodians of this history, a role we fulfil through three broad functions: acquiring, preserving and sharing.
Acquiring
We proactively collect paper and digital material from both internal and external sources, securing important veterinary collections for prosperity.
Preserving
Our collections are stored in optimum conditions, in line with best practice in heritage preservation. Paper-based material are kept in acid-free packaging, inside climate-control storerooms. Copies of digital documents are stored in a range of locations to minimise the risk of loss or corruption.
Sharing
We make details of our collections available via our online catalogue. Additionally, digital copies of selected papers can be accessed via our digital archive. We further engage with our research community by answering enquiries and welcoming in-person researchers, as well as utilising various media to share stories from our collections.
