Lou Northway RVN was award champion for this audit in the 2019 RCVS Knowledge Awards.

Lou undertook this audit as surveillance looking for any trends or complications that could be addressed to improve patient care. The audit found that only 40% of feline patients had a catheter placed compared to 96% of dogs. Lou and the team explored the reasons behind this and implemented a number of changes.

Download the PDF and read the case example to get deeper insights into the methods and outcomes, and to apply these strategies in your own practice to enhance patient safety and care.
