Video transcript

Once you have mentioned the Canine Cruciate Registry to the owner, you can go onto the Canine Cruciate Registry website.

Under the Veterinary Professionals tab, you will find the new patient registration form. Once completed this form will generate an automatic e-mail to the client which includes full details on the registry, including information about data protection and a chance for the owner to give their official, digital consent to take part.

You only need to fill out the owner’s name, the name of the dog, the owners e-mail address and the name of the vet that is treating the dog – this is so that the owner can select the correct vet when they register.

Once you submit the form the e-mail will be sent straight to the owner, and you don’t need to do anything further. If the owner changes their mind and does not want to take part in the registry they can ignore the e-mail, and their data will not be stored, and they won’t be contacted again.

For ease of use, you can save the new patient registration form for as a bookmark on your browser and register the patients within your consults.
