Statutory Membership Examination candidates

The library has a range of resources and services to support Statutory Membership Exam candidates.

Library membership

Candidates can join the library once they have declared their ‘intention to sit’ the Statutory Membership Examination (SME) with the RCVS.

Library membership is £25 for 6 months.

Library members have access to over 100 full-text online journals and to VetMed Resource, a comprehensive online bibliographic database to search the literature.

The library also has a range of print books from the RCVS suggested reading list. Please check our online library catalogue for details.

Library members can borrow 2 books at any one time for 4 weeks.

Please note – we require one document as proof of your UK address.

Library membership is non-transferable and may only be used by the person named on the application form.

Access to electronic resources: e-journals and databases. There are no e-books. All electronic resources are provided for research for a non-commercial purpose or private study and are subject to license agreements with each publisher that govern access and use. It is the responsibility of individuals to ensure that their use of electronic resources does not breach the terms and conditions specified in the license agreements. Details of the conditions of use for each resource can be found under the terms and conditions section of their websites.
